Faith • Civilization • Theology welcomes thoughtful, fair and academically informed reviews of significant books in theology, biblical studies, church history, early Christianity, Christian ethics, religion and society, and the relationship between faith and civilisation.
What we review
New scholarly books
Research monographs, edited collections and substantial academic works normally published within the previous three years.
Theological significance
Books that advance, challenge or clarify important discussions within the journal’s aims and scope.
Global perspectives
Works engaging Christian communities, traditions and scholarship across different regions and cultural settings.
Editorial status
Book reviews are editorially reviewed for accuracy, fairness, scholarly quality and suitability. They are identified as book reviews and are not presented as double-blind peer-reviewed research articles.
For prospective reviewers
Scholars, doctoral researchers, clergy and qualified independent researchers may propose a review. Please explain your relevant expertise and disclose any relationship with the author, editor or publisher.
Acceptance of a proposal is not guaranteed. Reviewers must receive editorial approval before presenting themselves as commissioned by the journal.
For authors and publishers
Authors and publishers may recommend a recent title for consideration. Digital review copies are preferred. Sending a book does not guarantee review, publication or a favourable assessment.
