Editorial Advisory Board
Kyle Hetrick is a Christian writer and Corps Mission Associate with the Orlando Citadel Corps of The Salvation Army, where his ministry works alongside people rebuilding their lives. His writing and pastoral experience bring a grounded, practical voice to the journal—one shaped by Scripture, accountability to the Church, and daily attentiveness to those seeking restoration, holiness, and hope in Jesus Christ.
He writes regularly at Burning in Peace (burninginpeace.substack.com), reflecting on faith, recovery, spiritual formation, and everyday Christian life.
As a member of the Editorial Advisory Board, Kyle advises on themes and editorial direction, recommends contributors and subjects, and reviews manuscripts where his pastoral and ministry experience is especially relevant. He also contributes articles to the journal as his schedule permits.
His affiliation with The Salvation Army is included for identification purposes only. His writing and advisory work reflect his own views and do not represent an official position of The Salvation Army.
Editorial Structure
Faith • Civilization • Theology operates under the editorial responsibility of its Founder and Editor-in-Chief, supported by members of the Editorial Advisory Board.
The Editor-in-Chief retains final responsibility for manuscript assessment, editorial decisions, revisions, publication scheduling, and journal policy.
Members of the Editorial Advisory Board serve in a voluntary capacity. They may offer pastoral, theological, scholarly, or professional advice according to their areas of experience. They are not required to participate in every submission or publication decision.
Where specialist knowledge is required, additional external scholarly or professional advice may be sought before a publication decision is made.
The journal does not list any person as an editor, reviewer, adviser, or contributor without their knowledge and consent.
Editorial Independence
Editorial decisions are based on relevance to the journal’s aims and scope, originality, clarity, responsible use of sources, theological and scholarly value, and compliance with publication policies.
Publication decisions are made independently and are not influenced by advertisers, sponsors, donors, political organisations, churches, ministries, institutions, or commercial interests.

Editorial Responsibilities
The editorial team is committed to:
- maintaining clear submission and review procedures
- protecting the integrity of the publication process
- identifying and managing conflicts of interest
- requiring accurate citation and responsible use of sources
- requesting corrections where necessary
- responding to ethical concerns
- ensuring that authors remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of their work
As the journal develops, it may appoint additional Editorial Advisory Board members, reviewers, section editors, or other editorial contributors. No person will be appointed or publicly listed without their prior knowledge and consent.
Editorial governance
The Editor is responsible for journal administration, initial assessment, reviewer appointment, communication with authors and final publication decisions. Advisory board members provide subject knowledge and strategic advice; an advisory appointment does not itself confer authority over every manuscript.
Editors, advisers and reviewers must disclose any relationship that could reasonably affect impartial judgment. A person with a relevant conflict will not control the assessment of that manuscript. Editorial and advisory appointments are made only with the individual’s knowledge and consent.
Manuscripts are judged on scholarly merit and fit, without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, gender, disability, age, institutional affiliation, political position or denominational identity.

Editorial Board development
The journal is actively developing a broader Editorial Advisory Board across its principal subject areas. Only individuals who have expressly consented to serve are publicly listed. Names, affiliations and biographies will not be added merely to imply institutional support.
Board growth does not replace independent manuscript review. Reviewers are appointed according to the subject of each submission and may be drawn from outside the Editorial Advisory Board.
